About

I am a medical doctor with an interest in the Coptic language and Coptic Studies more generally. I intend to use this blog to jot down my thoughts on any and all things to do with Egyptology, but particularly on those to do with the language.

I am not a professional Egyptologist, but I will at times post some short pieces of research I have done over the years. I hope readers will find them both interesting and useful. It is my hope that this blog will be informative but also spur further interest in Coptology.

  1. Dear Coptist
Greetings, just wanted to let you know that I liked your article about Claudius Labib. I also found some of the documents available for downloading most useful.
In all likelihood you are aware of it. Wikipedia web site has a good article about Labib Pahour
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pahor_Labib, which has a link to Claudius Labib page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cladius_Labib , which in turn lists your website as an external link https://coptist.wordpress.com/2012/06/13/claudius-labib-short-biography-and-bibliography/.
Though the web page on Pahor seems to have covered his life and work in reasonable detail, the one on Claudius seems to be inadequate. You may want to consider using your already well-written article about Claudius to beef up his Wikipedia page. Keep up the good work. God bless.

    • Thank you for your comments.

I have also noticed that the Wikipedia page on Pahor Labib is significantly more substantial than the page on Claudius Labib. I will try to update the page in the future, but please feel free to do this as well.
